The village of Simonsbath stands on the junction in the centre of Exmoor where the East-West, Exford to Challacombe road crosses the North-South, Lynton to South Molton road. There is a church called St. Lukes two hotels and Boeveys Tea Rooms.

Walking: There are a number of great walks from Simonsbath, notably down the River Barle which passes the southern edge of the village. There is also a lovely short woodland walk featuring all sorts of animals and birds carved from rough fallen timber by Mike Leach, who is a National Park Ranger.  Children will have great fun hunting them down.

Riding: An endless trail of paths and bridleways are available including direct access to the bridlepath from Simonsbath to Withypool along the Barle Valley. Pony trekking or good hirelings available locally or better still bring your own.

Cycling: Some of the tracks and bridlepaths are good for cycling, or you can explore the Taw and Torridge valleys and travel the Tarka Trail.
